Job Title: Premises Manager

Hours: 08:00 - 16:00, Monday to Friday
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 (Permanent Position)

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Premises Manager to join our dedicated team at a special needs school in Eltham. This is a key role, responsible for ensuring that our school premises are safe, well-maintained, and supportive of the unique needs of our students. The successful candidate will play a vital part in the daily operation of the school, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Premises Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee the general maintenance and security of the school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
- Manage and carry out repairs, maintenance tasks, and regular inspections of the school facilities.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors and service providers for larger maintenance and repair projects.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, conducting regular risk assessments and safety checks.
- Manage waste disposal, recycling, and grounds maintenance activities.
- Organize and oversee the setup of school spaces for events, meetings, and activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, inspections, and safety procedures.
- Drive the school minibus for student transport and school trips as required.
About You:
- Previous experience as a Premises Manager, facilities management, or a related role, ideally within an educational or special needs setting.
- A clean, manual driving licence is essential, as driving the school minibus is a key part of this role.
- Strong practical skills, including basic plumbing, electrical, and general DIY abilities.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with a commitment to ensuring a safe and supportive environment for our students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team.
- A thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
