Import Logistics Coordinator

An excellent opportunity for an Import Logistics Coordinator role working in the defence sector.

The role sits in the Export Logistics department, the team transacts between 70-100 imports a month and with newly implemented import processes, this is an exciting time to join the team.

Based onsite in Denham, near Uxbridge, with a 12.15pm finish on a Friday!

Job Responsibilities:

The role has various responsibilities including Import Operations which will encompass coordination tasks such as sourcing, repairs and return material authorisation (RMA), collaborating with stakeholders such as carriers, freight forwarders and custom brokers to optimise the importation process.

You'll be involved with Customs Compliance, controlling the IPR process from RMA to Bill of Discharge, working closely with import brokers to ensure compliance with import and trade regulations, preparing and submitting accurate customs clearance instructions.

You'll organise and maintain comprehensive shipment records, ensuring that documentation is complete and accessible for audit purposes, verifying/reviewing shipping documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with customs requirements.

Working closely with internal teams with high professional standards, you'll also proactively communicate with external partners to resolve issues.

Candidate Specification:

  • Seasoned experience working in the international transportation or logistics industry with IPR (Inward Processing Relief) process experience.
  • Strong experience of using Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience of using SAP or equivalent enterprise systems experience would be beneficial (can be trained).
  • Be a team player, with the ability to work independently.
  • Have an eye for detail and getting things right.
  • Know how to listen and communicate effectively with others.
