We are working with a very successful Health & Beauty company that are looking for a new team member who is passionate about product. The role will be to technically manage their product portfolio, ensuring that global compliance standards are met, and all documentation is processed, logged, and uploaded as required.
You must have substantial compliance experience within the Health & Beauty sector and will have current knowledge of UK and EU cosmetic regulations. Previous cosmetics compliance
experience within the UK and European markets is essential. Experience working on Licensed products & hardlines would also be a benefit.
A love of product is essential as you will be working very closely with the NPD team. A can-do attitude and a ‘roll your sleeves up mentality' is also key for this role - it is an exciting time for the business as they are continuing to grow, so it's a great time to come on-board!
Duties and responsibilities:
- Providing compliance advice on UK and EU regulations
- Reviewing product documentation from factories and confirming adherence to regulations
- Manage Safety Assessments (CPSR's)
- Ensuring that all relevant tests and files are complete and correct before shipment.
- Filing all technical documents; making sure that these are organised and easily accessed
- Working closely and proactively with retail customers and Licensors providing all technical documentation to them as required
- Uploading documents to all relevant portals (CPNP/UKCP/Licensor Portals)
- Submitting cosmetic product notifications to the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS)
- Ensuring that compliance requirements are met for reorders, in line with new regulations
- Keeping abreast of changing regulations and ensuring plans are in place to achieve required deadlines
- Reviewing & approving all artwork for compliant safety text for the countries in which it will be shipped
- Ensuring that any compliance issues are quickly resolved, and key people are informed
- Managing Factory compliance records, ethical audits and Corrective Action Plans
Prior experience required:
- 4+ years of experience working within beauty compliance
- An up to date understanding of UK and EU cosmetic regulations
- Experience with export market registration
- An understanding of the product manufacturing process
- A great multitasker, with the ability to monitor and control multiple product test results and schedules
- A passionate team player, with first class communication and negotiation skills
- A great communicator with a personable approach and excellent relationship building skills
- Numerate and proficient with Microsoft Office
- Proactive with the ability to act on your own initiative, whilst being a positive team member
- Highly organised, expert multi-tasker, self-starter
