Motor Vehicle Lecturer

A leading educational institution is seeking a dedicated Motor Vehicle Lecturer to transition from practical mechanics to the classroom, sharing extensive industry knowledge and shaping the next generation of automotive professionals.

This role is ideal for those with a passion for automotive technology, including hybrid and electric vehicles, and offers an opportunity to influence and inspire students in both workshop and classroom settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment up to Level 3 across study programmes, adult programmes, and apprenticeships, focusing on the Service and Maintenance Technician pathway. Engage students with a dynamic teaching approach in both workshop and classroom environments.
  • Motivate and support students to achieve their full potential by providing exceptional education and training. Develop creative and effective resources that enhance learning and foster a positive educational experience.
  • Actively contribute to the growth and development of the curriculum, aiming to establish the centre as a Centre of Excellence. Collaborate with the Motor Vehicle delivery team to create and refine resources that support student learning and programme goals.
  • Track and monitor learner progress meticulously, ensuring positive outcomes and addressing any areas of concern. Set SMART targets to support students in reaching their objectives and report on these metrics to the Curriculum Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and management to meet strategic and organisational objectives. Share best practices and contribute to cross-college teams or working groups on key projects as needed.
  • Hold a vocational qualification at Level 3 or above, along with a relevant teaching qualification and assessors award, or demonstrate a willingness to obtain these qualifications. Utilise a blend of practical, theoretical, and digital methods to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment. Be a proactive and motivated individual who can contribute to the college's strategic aims and enhance the educational experience of students.
  • Regularly update the Curriculum Manager on various key performance indicators, including student recruitment, retention, achievement rates, attendance, and punctuality.
