We are seeking a dedicated SENCO to join a supportive secondary school in Northampton starting from September. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and manage the support staff team to ensure all provisions meet the diverse needs of pupils with special or additional educational needs.
  • Work closely with children who have SEND and EHCPs, as well as those with additional social, emotional, and/or mental health needs.
  • Utilise data to analyse and evaluate performance, presenting information to various audiences including staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Develop and maintain effective working partnerships with multi-agency professionals.
  • Organise and oversee the school's SEND provision, maintaining high standards and attention to detail.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A Recognised Teaching Qualification.
  • Proven experience as a SENCO or in a similar role within the independent sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SEND needs and experience working with children with SEND and EHCPs.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • High standard of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Resilience and the capacity to work under pressure.
