Full time: Mon - Fri - 36/hrs a week

Hatched Recruitment is working closely with the local authritied and we are looking for a Nusery Officer in the Kensington and Chelsea.

Main Purpose of the Job
To be a productive member of a staff team, providing an emotionally secure, stimulating and safe learning environment, that will ensure the children and families are prepared for and experience a positive transition into full time education.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
1 To provide by forward planning, learning programmes for individuals or groups of children appropriate to their needs and developmental stages in accordance with the Early Years Curriculum.
2 To be innovative by providing a stimulating and appropriate range of activities that promotes the early learning goals, in accordance with the Childcare Standards and Regulations
3 To work in a productive partnership with parents/carers, resulting in the appropriate sharing of information and consultation with regard to the needs and developmental progress of the children.
4 To be aware of Child Protection Procedures and report immediately to your line Manager any concerns which arise, to record this information and to identify the appropriate action where necessary.
5 To encourage positive self-image in children and their family regardless of cultural heritage, race, religious beliefs disability and gender.

Technical and Job Specific Requirements

  • NNEB, CACHE, B-Tech 3, NVQ 3 or Equivalent
  • A thorough knowledge of children's developmental needs from 0-8
  • To be able to demonstrate excellent childcare practice
  • Ability to communicate effectively and fluently using appropriate style both verbally and in writing.
  • A recognition of the importance of effective teamwork
  • Ability to understand the importance of providing a service which promotes positive self images for all.
  • Ability to use own initiative and take responsibility where appropriate
  • Local Authority experience desirable but not essential
  • To have a basic understanding of Child Protection and relevant legislation and to undertake training to enhance awareness.
  • To be able to recognise the importance of multi-agency working and be willing to participate in the process.
