Yorkshire Cancer Research is entering an exciting period in its development. As part of this, we are expanding our team at our Head Office and a number of new roles are being created.

We are now looking for a Shop Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

The Role

As a Shop Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operation of our new shop in Hull, ensuring smooth retail activities and exceptional customer service is delivered.

Overseeing the management of a Deputy Shop Manager and a team of volunteers, you'll maintain high standards of customer service and ensure that the shop meets all operational, financial and safety standards.

You'll ensure the shop is presented to an excellent standard, maintaining attractive visual merchandising and ensuring it is a welcoming environment for all customers and supporters. Attracting and recruiting a team of new volunteers, you'll ensure they're well trained and maintain a welcoming, positive work environment.

Additionally, you will:

- Ensure the volunteer management system is actively kept up to date
- Make sure accounting and asset handling is accurate
- Complete shop administration, including cash handling and banking functions

About You

To be considered as a Shop Manager, you will need:

- Experience managing people or volunteers, including recruitment and development
- Experience meeting and exceeding targets within a retail environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
