Service Charge Accountant

Our client an established estate agency is seeking a Service Charge Accountant to join their team.

Salary: up to £40,000 pa depending on experience

Location: Gravesend (some remote working after 6-12 months)

Benefits: 22 days per annum rising to one per year to 25 days pa

Hours: Monday - Friday 9-5:30pm

Previous experience in the preparation of statutory and service charge accounts is essential. Knowledge of ARMA and RICS regulations. High level of concentration, accuracy and attention to detail. Self-motivated with a methodical and organised approach.

Service Charge Accountant general duties

  • To prepare statutory and service charge accounts for residential & commercial properties
  • To upload service charge budgets based on agreed apportionments and totals
  • To liaise with external auditors as part of the audit process from start to finish
  • To raise service charge invoices to tenants based on uploaded budgets
  • Dealing with telephone calls and any queries;
  • General filing and correspondence (as required);
  • Providing cover for team members (as required);
  • Other duties (as required).

Service Charge Accountant skills required

  • Good knowledge of ARMA and RICS regulations
  • Experience of client accounting software (TRAMPS) is desirable
  • Experience of client accounting software (APB) would be an advantage
  • High level of concentration, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a methodical and organised approach
  • Able to effectively prioritise and multi-task
  • Excellent people and communication skills at all levels
  • Dependable and flexible as well as possessing the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Proactive and able to take responsibility for own work and assist others
  • Work well under pressure
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
