We are seeking a time-served Mechanical Engineer to join our Maintenance team as a Maintenance Fitter. This role is crucial in maintaining, testing, repairing, and cleaning machinery and equipment within our Concrete plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with MIG welding skills being a distinct advantage.
Day to Day of the role:
- Carry out efficient and effective maintenance repair services for all on-site machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maximised production.
- Perform work as provided in Work Order format from the Maintenance Department.
- Visually inspect, test, and repair machinery and equipment as scheduled.
- Operate welding equipment for general maintenance purposes.
- Implement effective preventative maintenance schedules to minimise disruption to the business.
- Maintain cleanliness and adhere to Health, Safety, and Quality procedures at all times.
- Report any QHSE issues in a timely manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a similar role.
- Strong problem-solving skills with complex machinery.
- Good knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Excellent Health, Safety, and Environmental awareness.
- High level of integrity, proactive, self-motivated, resilient, and reliable.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to identify improvements to maximise time and minimise cost.
- Ability to make good decisions in a pressured environment.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Professional conduct and a positive, "can do" attitude.
- Experience with heavy/agricultural machinery is desirable.
