Building Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a Building Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor with a passion for supporting older people and a commitment to Christian values. This role is crucial in ensuring our properties are safe, comfortable, and well-maintained. You will be working remotely, reporting directly to the Director of Property Services, and travelling regularly to various homes and schemes.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Collaborate with Directors of Property, Finance, and Operations to set maintenance budgets.
  • Specify, tender, monitor, and supervise building, refurbishment projects, and planned preventative maintenance.
  • Prepare detailed reports on ongoing and forecasted work and budgets.
  • Produce recommendations for future cost planning.
  • Ensure proper authorisation of orders, invoices, and accounts in line with agreed policies.
  • Provide "on-call" cover as required to meet demands.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualification as a building surveyor, architectural technician, project manager, quantity surveyor, or similar.
  • Experience in building defect identification, maintenance procurement, and management.
  • Proficiency in facilities and asset management, as well as building project and repairs management.
  • Ability to prepare estimates, drawings, and specifications for projects and manage them effectively.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Excel, Word, etc.
  • Team player and self-motivated.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
  • Clean driving licence valid for UK driving.
  • Commitment to Christian values (Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010).
