Mainly remote with occasional travel into the offices

£600 per day, inside IR35

Our major client, a global Retail brand, is looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join their team on a 12 month contract, with a high chance of extension. The role is very SAFe Agile focussed.

Key Role Activities

  • Lead the planning and execution of work for your scrum teams (Program Increment and Sprint planning)
  • Understanding the timelines of delivering your team's Features
  • Facilitating and tracking the team's progress towards reaching planned Sprint and PI goals (including logging risks/issues and thinking about mitigations) by reviewing team burndowns
  • Running regular Retrospectives to identify bottlenecks that hinder the team and other areas of improvements the team can make (and also ensuring there are owners and plans for all action points)
  • Working closely with the Epic Owner to understand how your team's PI/Sprint plan (micro) fits into the Rolling Wave Plan and Roadmap (macro), risks/issues and external team dependancies
  • Eliminate blockers/impediments through effective engagement and conversation with people inside and outside of the team
  • Ensure the team follow official SOX and audit compliance processes and procedures to mitigate issues being deployed into Production
  • Complete and submit deployment documentation on behalf of the team and coordinate with the Enterprise Change Management team
  • Support Feature refinement sessions, coaching teams to break down + story point work in the most effective way
  • Ensure goals & scope are understood (through the Product Owner) and can be fulfilled by team members
  • Ensure teams are identifying enablers + internal and external dependancies (and the ability to understand how these dependancies impact the overall plan to deliver a Feature)
  • Collaborate with Product Owner, customers and developers to identify and clarify scope of problems/issues in terms of business/systems requirements and processes
  • Support the team's efforts to continuously improve communications and relationships with other delivery teams; represent the team in the Scrum of Scrums (SoS), helping the team remain aware of engagement opportunities and program effectiveness
  • Engage in challenging the old norms of development to improve performance in the areas of quality, predictability, flow, and velocity
  • Perform other duties as assigned
