Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant Manager include:
- Client portfolio – providing an efficient and proactive service, completing management and statutory accounts including related services, and setting budgets - awareness of commercial aspects of clients' business and impact on our work. Arrangement of timetable, booking of staff, planning and completion of management accounts, statutory accounts, VAT returns and other related assignments
- Client billing – attend to preparation of fee notes and fee covering letter for clients, in terms of the Business Outsourcing Services billing policy, for review by the relevant Associate Director, Director or Partner.
- Training and development – supervising junior staff members and ensuring feedback is given to staff on a timely basis. Ensuring appropriate in-house & on-the-job training received personally.
- Business/Practice Development - preparation of proposals for new work, and development of opportunities.
- New Client Take On Procedures - assist Head with embedding new clients into the Firm and within the client and staff portfolio, including work schedules.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA) or qualified by experience.
- Significant Experience of management accounts, statutory accounts and VAT returns gained within a professional services environment.
- Proven Experience of working with entrepreneurial, OMB and SME clients.
- Proven Experience of (and appetite for) business development activities such as preparation of proposal documents.
- Monitoring costs against budget for individual clients.
- Demonstrable experience of supervising others and delegation of work.
- Demonstrable experience of managing people
