We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK contractor, looking for a Managing Estimator to oversee the preparation and submission of complex, large-scale rail tenders. This is a senior role with significant responsibility, perfect for someone ready to take their career to the next level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the estimating team, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of tenders.
- Overseeing the cost estimation process for large-scale rail infrastructure projects.
- Collaborating with the Commercial and Pre-Construction teams to ensure competitive and commercially viable tenders.
- Developing strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Reviewing subcontractor quotes, ensuring best value for the project.
- Mentoring and developing junior estimators, driving best practices across the team.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience as a Managing or Senior Estimator within the rail sector.
- In-depth knowledge of the rail industry, including infrastructure projects and market rates.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple high-value tenders simultaneously.
