Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person who has the perfect combination of team leadership, organisational and decision-making skills who can motivate a team of telephony-based mortgage qualifiers, at all levels of experience. The successful applicant will need to be able to manage and distribute significant and complex mortgage qualification workloads, both inbound and scheduled outbound, whilst ensuring lead supplier service level agreements are met without fail.

Candidate Requirements

The Head of Mortgage Telemarketing will need to know their stuff about mortgages because they will be managing a team of highly skilled mortgage qualifiers. Being able to think laterally and find optimal solutions will depend upon this individual being able to draw upon great reserves of imagination, first class mental mathematics and most of all, the human resources available to them. The Head of Mortgage Telemarketing has many challenges ahead of them, above and beyond the day-to-day management of their team. The Telemarketing Team is one of the many entry points of a career hereWe that takes new recruits into a myriad of management and advice pathways. This means recruitment and training of new Qualifiers and Telemarketing Support staff is a constant feature of the role as we continue our on-track growth journey. We would therefore expect all applicants to have recent, extensive and proven transferrable sales and training experience.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Team Leadership
  • Lead and motivate a team of telephony-based mortgage qualifiers.
  • Day to day human resource management including optimising staffing rota, 1-2-1's, appraisals, sickness reviews, performance management and disciplinary proceedings.
  • Ensuring team adherence to Core Values.
  • Manage and distribute mortgage qualification workloads.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, team members, customers, and housebuilder sales management staff at all levels of seniority.
  • Develop management skills of existing seniors and team leaders to support role objectives.
  • Delegate daily, weekly and monthly tasks appropriately.
  1. Exceed key performance metrics
  • Drive the team to achieve performance targets and maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Ensure lead supplier service level agreements are met.
  • Maintaining industry leading standards of qualification accuracy and our service take up levels.
  1. Support company strategic objectives
  • Oversee recruitment and training of new Qualifiers and Telemarketing Support staff.
  • Support career development pathways for all team members whilst ensuring overall team performance is optimal.
  • Support any new company initiatives as required.

Remuneration & Terms

  • Basic Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 dependent on experience.
  • Performance Related Bonus (non-pensionable): On target £20,000, uncapped.
  • Core Values Bonus Scheme (discretionary and non-pensionable).
  • Automatic 2% annual pay increases after 2 years' service.
  • Location: Nottingham
  • 20 days holiday, increases by 1 day after each additional year of service up to a maximum of 25 days + bank holidays.
  • NEST pension.

  • 6 months' probation.
