Planning Support Officer

  • Hourly Rate: £14.25 PAYE / £17.52 Umbrella

We are seeking a Planning Support Officer to join our team at Gateway Plaza, Barnsley. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling and dispatching work electronically to craft operatives within Construction Services, contributing to the management of the service, and ensuring a customer-focused approach. This role requires immediate start and offers flexible working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Running job queues and booking repair appointments with customers in workers' diaries.
  • Handling customer enquiries and providing relief planner support.
  • Call handling and progressing to full planner duties as per the job specification.
  • Scheduling and dispatching work electronically to individual craft operatives.
  • Working closely with the Planning Manager to deliver service improvements.
  • Liaising with customers, tenants, and responding to their enquiries efficiently.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of new working methods to increase effectiveness and efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Repairs Service environment is ideal.
  • Experience within a customer-focused service delivery organisation.
  • Proficiency in computerised work scheduling software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Analytical skills to assess problems, options, and solutions to service delivery issues.
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
