Application Analyst

A quick look at the role

The Application Analyst is responsible for making configuration changes to business-critical systems, reporting into the Configuration Manager. They work closely with the business stakeholders, functional consultants, developers and testers to ensure the systems meet the business needs and follow the best practices.

The role keeps up to date on software releases by software providers, e.g. Ceridian DayForce, advising the business on which modules to take and how the new releases will impact Biffa processes. They complete configuration changes in the systems, co-ordinate testing of the changes between systems and prepare the release package for going to Production environments.

Your core responsibilities

  • Carry out the technical configuration of HR system enhancements, extensions, and integrations
  • Coordinate the test and release of the configuration changes, working with the test and release teams
  • Work with the business stakeholders and business analysts to identify changes required to configuration of system and review requirements.
  • Keep up to date on software releases by software providers, advising the business on which modules to take and how the new releases will impact Biffa processes
  • Provide 3rd line technical support and troubleshooting for system issues, working with the internal IT support team & vendor support teams as needed.
  • Undertake formal application training where required to support the application lifecycle.
  • Manage the system configuration documentation & knowledge transfer for the IT team

Our essential requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification, ideally in a computing science related discipline
  • 12 month s experience experience in configuring and managing Enterprise applications
  • Experience in working with HR systems (e.g. DayForce) is desirable
