Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Grays, Essex

Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum

Job Description:

An established and reputable construction company based in Grays, Essex, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effective project completion.
  • Tendering: Evaluate tender documentation, manage the tender process, and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Valuations: Conduct accurate valuations and ensure prompt payments and cash flow for ongoing projects.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, including cost forecasts, risk analysis, and financial performance updates.
  • Contract Administration: Oversee contract terms, manage variations, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate these throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Sector Experience: Must have significant experience in at least one of the following sectors: Civils, Groundworks, Drainage, or Reinforced Concrete (RC) Frame.
  • Qualifications: A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a thorough understanding of construction contracts.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and proactive approach.
