Security Guard
- Job Type: Temporary for 3 to 6 months with potential for permanent contract

- Salary: £11.90 - £13.20 per hour
- Working hours: contractual hours of 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm & 11pm to 7am Monday to Friday, and 7am to 7pm, 7pm to 7am Saturday & Sunday.
Reed Business Support in Cambridge is partnering with a world-leading research institute in Cambridge. They are seeking a dedicated Security Guard to join their team. The role is crucial in maintaining our high-quality security service, ensuring the safety and security of our facilities, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be part of a team working on alternating shift patterns covering 365 days per year.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Assist the Property Services team in all functions when/where necessary.
- Oversee the Department's security service, including compliance assurance, fire safety officer responsibilities, emergency planning, and associated security functions such as CCTV monitoring and Access Control.
- Provide a friendly, helpful, and professional service to a wide range of staff and visitors.
- Conduct regular security patrols of the main institute building, grounds, and energy centre.
- Perform reception duties as and when required, including interacting with visitors and staff.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on attention to detail.
- Ability to use initiative and possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office packages.
- Flexibility with working hours and the ability to cover for annual leave and other absences within the team.
