Registered Manager - Children Services - £50K

Hours: 8am-5pm Monday -Friday

We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to manage the service through clear aims and objectives to meet the assessed priority needs of young people within the parameters of legislation, good practice and policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment of the staff team, compliance with onboarding and recruitment processes.
  • Manage the activity and performance of the services and staff and be responsible for dealing with their day-to-day issues, e.g. complaints and maintenance requirements.
  • Liaise with commissioning, children's social care and other professionals in terms of specific and general service delivery, support, accommodation etc, and to respond to any complaints/issues they have in a timely manner.
  • Budget management, reporting to the Senior Management Team and quality assurance of the service.
  • Participate in service developments including planning, control, monitoring, review and evaluation activities to ensure continuous improvements in service delivery.
  • To be responsible for people management, relating to sickness, absence, capabilities and discipline.
  • To ensure that all young people, and staff are treated in accordance with the Equal Opportunities policy, and fairly with consideration of their cultural, religious and physical needs.
  • To manage/provide on-call emergency out of hours service
  • Manage the staff rota.
  • To ensure all reports and reporting data including monthly and quarterly returns, performance reports, and self-assessment safeguarding returns as requested by Local Authorities are completed and returned to them as requested.
  • To ensure all safeguarding issues are addressed in accordance to Eden Care Homes policies and procedures.
  • To develop and manage referrals, IPA's and facilitate the discharge planning process.
  • To review the performance of staff and provide annual appraisals.
  • You will be required to ensure the implementation of OFSTED regulations to achieve the minimum standards to register the service and maintain as minimum ‘good' OfSTED ratings as per the inspection framework cycle.

Requirements:

  • Min. 5yrs experience of working with children and young people (essential)
  • Min. 2yrs Leadership & Management experience in children's services, supported accommodation, children's residential (essential)
  • Excellent working knowledge of safeguarding children and young people, legislation, statutory regulations (essential)
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or willingness to complete)
  • An excellent knowledge of OFSTED interview and inspection process (desirable)
  • Be confident in providing leadership to the team (essential)
  • Driving Licence (essential)
  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards)
