Commercial Finance Manager
£65,000 - £70,000 + bonus, benefits & Hybrid working.
Aila is excited to be partnered exclusively in the recruitment of a Commercial Finance Manager for a leading, energetic and multi-site leisure business, based in Milton Keynes.
The current turnover is c.£100m with an EBITDA of £30m and 50 sites across the UK. They have plans to continue to grow, with a lot of excitement about what the future holds. The Head of Commercial Finance is recruiting an ambitious and driven Commercial finance Manager that can settle into the team quickly. The primary focus of the role is to ensure delivery of timely, consistent, and insightful reporting of financial and non-financial information to senior stakeholders across the business, Deputising for the Head of Commercial Finance and FP&A in trading meetings.
We're recruiting a commercially curious Qualified Accountant with strong problem-solving skills who can build relationships effectively across all levels of the business, including the senior execs, working within a small team, and managing 1 Finance Analyst.
You will be a confident and assuring individual with excellent Excel skills and the ability to build relationships across the wider business. A strongly analytical mind and a problem-solving mindset is essential as the business is continuously changing and is a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of producing and delivering weekly trading reports across all areas of the Group
- Create, maintain and develop dashboard reporting including adding insight on financial and non-financial information
- Own the set up and maintenance of internal financial reporting systems and work with the 3rd party provider to deliver improvements as required
- Own the reporting and performance management of key revenue and gross margin lines
- Act as the primary contact for the commercial team with any ad hoc queries
- Input into high level rolling forecasts and the annual budget process, being able to re-build and update financials models and explain movements to all members of the senior team
- Responsible for delivery of accurate trading information used externally to update our shareholders on our performance
- Manage regular P&L review sessions with Operations Director and Regional Managers to identify areas of opportunity
- Point of contact for Regional Managers and site managers regarding P&L and finance queries
- Provide cover for Group Head of Commercial Finance and FP&A as required, including presenting at trading meetings
- Manage and develop 1 Commercial Finance Analyst
To be successful in this role, you will be a Qualified Commercial Accountant with at least 2-3 years' PQE and a genuine desire to progress to Head of Commercial Finance in the next two years.
