Assistant Management Accountant

- Salary: £30K - £35K DOE
My client is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to provide essential support in creating management accounts and delivering key financial information within the FMCG sector. This role is ideal for a finance professional who is AAT qualified or has a relevant degree and is ideally working towards a CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualification. This role can offer hybrid working after the probation period (6 months)
Day to Day of the role:
- Monthly creation and reconciliation of trial balances.
- Resolve discrepancies arising from GL account reconciliations in a timely manner.
- Daily posting and reconciliation of bank accounts.
- Prepare and publish monthly group BSC, variance analysis reports, and other KPI reports.
- Manage petty cash analysis, reconciliation, and posting monthly, including vending machines.
- Submit monthly statutory returns as required, including VAT.
- Reconcile PayPal accounts for web sales and oversee monthly reconciliation of clearance accounts.
- Check staff expenses for validity and VAT promptly.
- Participate in ad hoc projects as required by management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- AAT qualified or relevant Degree, ideally studying towards CIMA/ACA/ACCA.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance function.
- Sound knowledge of accounting processes and procedures.
- Proficiency with SAP, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Good numeric and literacy skills.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the distribution and FMCG business sector.
