Day to day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons in English to a diverse group of students.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Contribute to the development of an ambitious curriculum that emphasizes literacy and reading.
- Provide personalized support to pupils with special educational needs.
- Participate in and contribute to extracurricular societies and activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continue the school's trajectory of improvement.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in English or a related subject.
- Experience teaching English at a secondary school level.
- A passion for English literature and language and the ability to inspire this in students.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
