Who will I be working for?

What will I be doing?
You will join a small friendly research team responsible for in vitro testing of gold nanoparticles and test vaccines on cell lines and primary cells. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. You will be able to work independently, as well as thrive working in a multidisciplinary team.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Providing routine lab support and performing lab maintenance activities.
- Ensuring all safety guidelines are adhered to and help to maintain a clean and organised environment.
- When trained you will be encouraged to perform research projects, under supervision.
- Writing/revising/maintaining lab protocols and databases.
- Assisting in blood and/or tissue preparation for immune cell isolation and downstream analyses.
- Communicating results through high quality technical reports and oral presentations.
- Planning, analysis, reviewing and troubleshooting of experiments.
- Development of new skills and knowledge necessary to successfully support assigned projects.
What skills and experience are required?
- BSc or MSc in a biological science, ideally with several years of laboratory experience but exceptional recent graduates with a science-based degree will also be considered.
- Practical experience in cell culture, with meticulous attention to detail and aseptic technique.
- Knowledge of HTA regulations would be advantageous.
What else do I need to know?
This is a permanent full-time role, based on Milton Park, but there is flexibility on hours to accommodate the successful candidate.
