Operations Analyst

An international banking group is currently seeking an Operations Analyst to join the Back Office team. The role involves monitoring transactions, processing events during the trade lifecycle, and liaising with counterparties for settlement issues. The successful candidate will also maintain operational procedures and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Process deal tickets, confirmations, and associated payments.
  • Handle the refinancing instruments in the Bank's core system, including bonds, covered bonds, Certificates of Deposits, interbank deposits, intragroup loans and borrowings, IRS, CIRS, FX Spot, Forward, and FX Swaps.
  • Manage confirmations and matching, payments and settlements, and ensure matching of settlement instructions.
  • Conduct reconciliation and payment of brokers invoices, manage corporate actions, and handle invoice payments.
  • Manage daily short-term funding requirements, including calculation and input of related trades.
  • Perform cash management of the Branch Nostro accounts.
  • Reconcile the Bank's Nostro accounts and ensure accuracy in the Bank's ledgers.
  • Reconcile Back Office operations vs accounting regarding P&L calculation.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and perform level 1 controls to secure operational processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in Back Office operations within a banking or financial services environment.
  • Proficiency in using core banking systems, preferably CALYPSO.
  • Familiarity with SWIFT and understanding of settlement processes.
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, including bonds, derivatives, and foreign exchange.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance within the financial sector.
