Role Overview:
The Business Unit Leader will take full ownership of the business unit's strategic direction and day-to-day operations. This role requires leadership in setting sales and performance goals, managing resources, and ensuring successful project delivery. The position involves working closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and key stakeholders to drive business success, maintain service excellence, and expand market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the business unit to achieve financial and operational goals.
- Develop and implement strategies for growth, including Sales & Marketing initiatives.
- Ensure alignment with company objectives and oversee the development of sales targets and performance indicators.
- Manage the internal and external teams, ensuring efficient operations and project delivery.
- Take full ownership of service quality, client satisfaction, and operational logistics.
- Oversee workforce and material management to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, surveyors, and contractors, providing expert technical and commercial guidance.
- Conduct site visits and surveys, monitor project progress, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Identify new product opportunities and contribute to their development.
- Present the company's offerings to prospective clients and expand the business portfolio.
- Ensure the maintenance of strong customer relationships and promote the company's reputation.
- Oversee the completion of all necessary paperwork, ensuring compliance with the ISO Quality Management System and internal procedures.
- Regularly update and maintain customer databases and internal systems.
- Implement and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the unit.
- Undertake training as required to enhance leadership skills and performance.
Experience & Skills Required:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within the Construction or Renewable Energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of business management, with experience in driving growth and managing teams.
- In-depth understanding of Construction Health & Safety requirements.
- Solid background in Project Management, with a track record of delivering successful projects.
Desired:
- Familiarity with roofing systems and renewable energy technologies, including Solar PV.
- Experience in business unit or divisional leadership within the construction or green energy sector.

This is a full-time leadership role based at the company's Poole headquarters. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of circa £65k, plus a commission/bonus structure.
