Kingsley Consulting are recruiting a Business Unit Manager/General Manager to work with a leading specialist in the design, supply, and installation of Solar PV and Green Roof systems. Role Overview:

The Business Unit Leader will take full ownership of the business unit's strategic direction and day-to-day operations. This role requires leadership in setting sales and performance goals, managing resources, and ensuring successful project delivery. The position involves working closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and key stakeholders to drive business success, maintain service excellence, and expand market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the business unit to achieve financial and operational goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies for growth, including Sales & Marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment with company objectives and oversee the development of sales targets and performance indicators.
  • Manage the internal and external teams, ensuring efficient operations and project delivery.
  • Take full ownership of service quality, client satisfaction, and operational logistics.
  • Oversee workforce and material management to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, surveyors, and contractors, providing expert technical and commercial guidance.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys, monitor project progress, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Identify new product opportunities and contribute to their development.
  • Present the company's offerings to prospective clients and expand the business portfolio.
  • Ensure the maintenance of strong customer relationships and promote the company's reputation.
  • Oversee the completion of all necessary paperwork, ensuring compliance with the ISO Quality Management System and internal procedures.
  • Regularly update and maintain customer databases and internal systems.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the unit.
  • Undertake training as required to enhance leadership skills and performance.

Experience & Skills Required:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within the Construction or Renewable Energy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of business management, with experience in driving growth and managing teams.
  • In-depth understanding of Construction Health & Safety requirements.
  • Solid background in Project Management, with a track record of delivering successful projects.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with roofing systems and renewable energy technologies, including Solar PV.
  • Experience in business unit or divisional leadership within the construction or green energy sector.

This is a full-time leadership role based at the company's Poole headquarters. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of circa £65k, plus a commission/bonus structure. The package includes a company vehicle, 25 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays), a generous pension scheme, and private healthcare.
