Bookkeeper

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
We are currently seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our accountancy practice based in Reigate. This role offers the opportunity to work within a professional team, providing comprehensive bookkeeping services to a diverse client portfolio.
Day to day of the role:
- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for clients.
- Process financial transactions including sales and purchase invoices.
- Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile financial discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Manage payroll processing for clients, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
- Liaise with clients to gather financial data, receipts, and other documentation.
- Provide support during year-end processes and liaise with accountants for the preparation of annual accounts.
- Utilise bookkeeping software efficiently, ensuring that all financial data is entered correctly and in a timely manner.
- Offer financial administrative support as needed, including filing and managing client queries.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accountancy practice.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of VAT, payroll processing, and other financial regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple clients and adapt to varying business needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
