Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Payroll - assisting in managing the a range of client payrolls - taking ownership and ensuring smooth and efficient operations
- Provide expert advice and guidance - helping clients navigate complex payroll and compliance issues
- Be able to lead, train and support payroll trainees and other support staff, fostering a collaborative and high performing team environment
- Manage day to date payroll activities, including processing payrolls, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and enhancement of payroll processes and systems
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven previous experience in a payroll role, preferably within a chartered accountant's firm or a similar professional services environment
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll legislation, tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficient in payroll software
- Demonstrate a passion for developing other team members
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information
