Prospero Teaching are currently supporting a specialist provision in the Portsmouth area that is dedicated to supporting students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. About You:
- You are an innovative, compassionate, and resilient educator with experience or a strong desire to work within SEMH.
- Your role will be pivotal in fostering a trauma-informed environment, supporting students with complex needs and behavioural challenges.
- You will have a primary teaching background with an ability to engage and inspire students with SEMH needs.
- We are looking for teachers who can teach across a range of subjects including English and Maths in addition to their own specialism.
Key Requirements:
- Primary teaching experience.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable.
- A solid understanding of differentiated learning experiences and behaviour management within a trauma-informed framework.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in SEMH and special education.
- A collaborative approach to working with parents, carers, and other professionals.

- Planning and delivering a curriculum that meets the needs of individual students across Key Stages 1-4.
- Implementing positive behaviour management strategies in line with the schools values and procedures.
- Creating a positive, nurturing environment that motivates, engages, and inspires students.
