Marks Sattin is delighted to be supporting a highly innovative business in the heart of Sheffield as they embark on their journey to find their next Financial Controller/Head of Finance.
Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the day to day finance function as well as business partnering with non-finance teams to identify areas and opportunities of continuous growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function - monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow.
- Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Develop and implement robust financial controls and procedures.
- Partner with non-finance teams across the group to identify and drive opportunities for growth and operational improvements.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
- Manage and mentor a small team
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Support strategic initiatives and business projects with financial expertise and analysis.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a financial controller role or similar position.
- Strong technical accounting skills and a thorough understanding of financial regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in business partnering with non-finance teams, demonstrating the ability to influence and drive change.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
