A secondary school in Wigan is a flourishing 11-16 secondary school that is proud to provide an exceptional education for children. They are one of a very small number of state, comprehensive secondary schools in the North West to be awarded an Ofsted judgement of Outstanding (January 2023), and they are exceptionally proud of what this means for the pupils who attend our school and the staff who work here. They are looking to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Design Technology to lead this successful Department into the next stage of its journey. You will lead the Department in developing the teaching, learning, curriculum, quality assurance to ensure that an already successful Department reaches its goal of being 'exceptional'.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location - Wigan
  • Position - D&T Teacher
  • Type of work - Supply Teacher - day to day and long term cover in various schools
  • Start date - September 2024
  • Duration / Likely Duration - Day to day bookings, with the potential for extension depending on schools
  • End date (if applicable) - N/A
  • Contract type - Temporary
  • Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on schools needs
  • Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £120 per day
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm (full day), half day (am or pm), individual lesson cover

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a UK school
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
