Hybrid: 3 days in the office

As part of a strategic Book of Work moving to a global Target Operating Model (TOM), Nikko Capital Markets Ltd is moving its General Ledger functionality to the Oracle Cloud away from an internally built legacy system.

Also, the role will support the transformation of developing universal corporate & investment banking model through integration of securities trading activities into a single legal entity.

The role will require in-depth analysis to influence design and understand the impact on core finance activities, plus collaboration across project teams to solve problems and build understanding the bank's operating model.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Daily PL review and attribution analysis
  • Trading balance sheet and PL product and financial control
  • Analysis and production of end-state balance sheet and PL modelling
  • Support testing and validation of downstream reporting processes.
  • Understanding and contributing to period-end finance processes to successfully complete accurate financial reporting
  • Co-ordination of delivery across wider team, including liaison with stakeholder groups including external audit teams and senior members of the finance team
  • Identify and prioritise areas of process enhancement and simplification.
  • Support UAT process of Oracle Cloud project to successful go-live

Knowledge, Skills & Education:

  • Qualified/Part-qualified Accountant
  • 5 years+ Prior experience in Securities industry within Finance and / or Product Control
  • Working knowledge of Vanilla Securities products and their accounting - Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Swaps etc
  • Basic Securities valuations experience
  • Period-End Close and problem-solving the typical issues found within that process
  • Data Analysis and Excel-based data manipulation i.e. large trade-based datasets, pivot tables, etc
  • Reconciliations, break investigation and general problem-solving
  • Adhoc reporting requests to Senior management and Front Office
  • Stakeholder communication
  • Systems: Gloss settlement and subledger system, plus any Derivatives system. MS Excel, and Access (less important).
