Graduate Quality Engineer role

Location: Wrexham (fully onsite)

Type: Permanent

Hours: 8:00 - 17:00 (Monday to Friday)

Our client, a leading- established and specialist UK manufacturing business is looking to recruit for an Engineering graduate who will be trained up in the below duties and given a rare opportunity to work closely with the sites General Manager. We are looking to speak to driven, hard working individuals who can multitask and who want to push on in their career.

The Role:

  • Responsible for regular checking and documenting of production unit process parameters, settings, temperatures and product visual quality.
  • Testing includes (but not limited to); tensile testing, batch control, raw materials testing etc
  • Responsible for performing inspections and testing of random samples from all production units, identifying both defects and corrective actions within the manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for checking, validating and testing of incoming raw materials including paperwork.
  • Responsible for checking and validating all dispatches are to standard, correct in number and quality and with correct documentation.
  • Responsible for the management of quarantine products, ensuring routing for non-compliant material is identified and actioned.
  • Responsible for the management of non-conformance reported by customers, investigating, recording and responding to such using recognized quality management tools such as 5Y, 8D, Fishbones etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all ISO Management processes identified and delegated to them.
  • Maintaining records for all calibrating and measuring equipment
  • Questioning the nature of defects while providing future solutions
  • Alerting the Operations Manager to problems and delivering resolutions
  • Inspecting raw materials to ensure consistency, integrity and compliance
  • Filling out and maintaining necessary paperwork
  • Complying with any and all standards, internal policies and legal regulations that apply to both raw materials and finished goods.
  • Comparing finished products to original standards.
  • Providing a positive and proactive approach to maintaining quality standards throughout the company

The Person:

  • Will hold a STEM related Degree (or similar).
  • Demonstrable work experience (may be part time work during studies etc).
  • Driven individuals.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft applications/ IT literate.
