It's creating great new opportunities for innovative and talented industry professionals to join us at a pivotal point in our development.

Job Description

Purpose of this role:

In the Communication & Engagement team, it's our job to help colleagues feel informed, involved, and inspired, so they can ace what matters most for our customers every single day. And that's where the Communication Lead comes in! You'll oversee the delivery and evolution of our internal communication channels, editorial content, and campaigns to galvanise colleagues behind The Game Changer strategy and the important role they play.

What will my role entail?

  • Oversee the delivery and evolution of our core communication channels, including the intranet (Interact), quarterly TV broadcasts (GCTV), ad hoc email announcements/e-letters (Poppulo), colleague events (virtual and in person), and leader blogs.
  • Leading the development and launch of a new intranet, including developing colleague personas, updating the distribution lists, and streamlining our digital tools/channels.
  • Supporting with the leadership engagement plan, including virtual and in-person events, strategy deep-dives, a digital community, and conversation guides.
  • Bringing The Game Changer strategy to life, with editorial content that reinforces Our Why, Our What, and Our How
  • Working alongside project leads to turn their key messages into purposeful communications – everything from one-off stories and announcements, through to bigger campaigns.
  • Producing content for a range of media types (e.g., written articles, scripts, toolkits, social media posts, audio, video, infographics, event materials).
  • Supporting with business performance communications, including the annual report, financial results, bonus, and pay review.
  • Coaching functional leaders and project leads on communication best practice and acting as the trusted communication advisor on various steering groups (e.g., Driving Good).
  • Line managing the Content Creator and helping to coach the wider team.
  • Working in partnership with the Brand, Marketing & PR team to develop a joined-up internal and external communication plan.
  • Producing a regular measurement dashboard and using it to inform channel/content plans.
  • Supporting with crisis communications when needed.
  • Deputising for the Head of Colleague Communication & Engagement.

Qualifications

What makes me a great fit?

  • You're an all-round communication pro with exceptional attention to detail, who can turn your hand to copywriting, event production, channel management, campaign planning etc.

  • You're an analytical thinker who loves digging behind the data to solve communication challenges.
  • You build trusted relationships at all levels – from directors and SMEs to frontline colleagues.
  • You love turning strategic messages into compelling narratives that improve colleague engagement and drive great business outcomes.
  • A proud ‘grammar geek' with excellent copywriting skills and the ability to adapt your written style for various audiences/content types.
  • A team player, who gets stuck in to help others out and enjoys coaching other members of the team.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and work best when you're juggling multiple priorities.
