Location: Wakefield, Yorkshire (Remote/Office/Site-Based)
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 + Package

My client is a reputable principal contractor based in Wakefield, offering specialised services in M&E, Project Management, and Shopfitting. Their clients include well-known retail brands such as Greggs, ASDA, Selfridges, and Morrisons, and they pride themselves on delivering high-quality shopfitting and refurbishment projects. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in shopfitting to manage key projects and lead the commercial team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the commercial management of shopfitting projects, from inception to completion.
  • Lead cost planning, estimating, and financial management to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, tenders, and variations.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and support project teams with cost control strategies.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Provide detailed financial reports and updates to senior management.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and industry regulations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the shopfitting sector is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and project budgeting.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.
  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field (e.g., RICS, HNC).
  • Full UK driving license.

Working Arrangements:

  • Flexible working options available: remote work, office-based, or site-based, as required.
  • Must be located within Yorkshire, with occasional travel to the Wakefield office and project sites.
