A London based University is recruiting a Financial Accountant to join the Finance team.
This exciting role will require an experienced Financial Accountant to be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of financial information and to contribute to all aspects of Financial Accounting.
Daily rate: c. £300 (daily rates above this may be considered for exceptional experience)
Location: Central London (hybrid working)
Contract length: 3 months with possibility to go permanent
Job responsibilities:
- Year-End Financial Management: Oversee the financial year-end process and assist in preparing the annual consolidated financial statements
- Audit Support: Prepare necessary documents to aid internal and external auditors
- Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate completion of quarterly VAT returns and annual corporation tax returns
- Tax Advisory: Address tax queries and support larger tax-related projects
- Fixed Assets Accounting: Manage monthly and annual accounting for fixed assets, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and year-end verifications
- Cash Flow Forecasting: Assist in maintaining up-to-date cash flow forecasts
- Regulatory Knowledge: Stay informed on current accounting regulations and standards to provide thorough advice
Person specification:
- CCAB Qualified Accountant
- Comprehensive technical knowledge and experience of financial accounting, accounting systems and processes in the Higher Education sector
- Experience with partial VAT exemption calculations
- Confident problem solver with ability to complete complex reconciliations
