An exciting and rare opportunity is now available for an experience Bookkeeper to join an accountancy practice in Alresford, Hampshire on a part time basis.

This well established practice are looking to hire someone to lead on their Bookkeeper service, providing a variety of clients an all-round bookkeeping service as well as VAT and Corporation tax services.

This will be a part time role of 3 days per week but the hours are fully flexible giving the option to work 3 full days, school hours, or specific hours which suit your needs. In addition, this is a hybrid position with only 1 day required in the office per week.

Your Role:

In the role of our Part-Time Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in managing our client's day-to-day financial transactions, including:

  • Accurate processing of client's invoices and payments
  • Reconciling bank statements and financial records
  • Crafting and maintaining detailed financial reports and budgets
  • Ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulations, including preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns
  • Preparing accounts up to trial balance
  • Completion of income and expenditure accounts
  • Direct communication with clients

Who You Are:

  • Experienced: Proven bookkeeping experience, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and VAT.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient with bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Line50) and Excel are essential.
  • Detail-Oriented: Your attention to detail is unmatched, ensuring accuracy in every financial document.
  • Self-Motivated: You are organized, can manage your time effectively, and can work independently.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a positive attitude towards teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant certification in Accounting, Finance, or related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in a bookkeeping role for at least 2 years.
  • Recent experience working for a similar UK based accountancy practice.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Recent experience completing a wide variety of general bookkeeping, quarterly VAT returns, and corporation tax computerisations.
