The main purpose of the role is to support Sensory & Consumer research projects and testing requirements for the EMEA region. Sensory Analyst will work with Sensory Project Leads and R&D stakeholders to deliver on projects from brief to completion, providing input using the appropriate sensory tests across the lifecycle of a project. The Sensory Analyst will also be an ambassador for the function and promote the Sensory & Consumer Science Department both internally and externally.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the consumer business validation requirements as required, to deliver actionable business insights and validation, working closely with the Sensory Project Lead.
  • Liaise with agencies to develop and ensure conformance to agreed protocols; provide clear actionable insights & recommendations to the business - if needed.
  • Support in the management of an external McCormick UK Consumer Panel (data base maintenance, recruitment strategy).
  • Support with planning, coordinating, and conducting sensory evaluation and consumer testing for the CFS business unit, for all stages of a project.
  • Support management of project samples and their preparation and set up for tests, along with the Sensory Panel Leader and Sensory Technician.
  • Maintain a clean and safe Laboratory environment in accordance with health & safety standards.
  • Support the other team activities when required; support cross-site Sensory team alignment (Peterborough and Giotti) etc.
  • Personal and team development (keep up to date with Sensory methodologies, publications, etc.)

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • A background in Sensory Science, Food Science, or related discipline.
  • Relevant work experience in the field of Sensory & Consumer Science, including experience working in a laboratory environment (good understanding of GLP).
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in an appropriate field with a Sensory/Consumer Science focus.
  • Capability to carry out complex data analysis and data interpretation.
  • Strong presentation skills; be able to present confidently, with impact.
  • High adaptality to change and willingness to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer/stakeholder relationships.
  • Good knowledge of advanced statistical analysis methods
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fully operational in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Enthusiastic about food.
