Reed Accountancy & Finance are looking for a detail-oriented Sales Ledger Clerk to join our finance team on a temporary basis in Bethersden. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the sales ledger, ensuring that sales invoices are processed accurately and that payments are received in a timely manner.
**Sales Ledger Clerk
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain up-to-date billing system and generate and send out invoices.
- Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
- Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
- Perform account reconciliations and monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies and generate age analysis.
- Review AR aging to ensure compliance and maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
- Process credit card payments and prepare bank deposits.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries and communicate with customers via phone, email, mail, or personally.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sales Ledger Clerk or in a similar accounting role.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
