Technical Design Engineer

£25,000 to £32,000 per annum
37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday
Our client, a Wokingham based security business with over 6 decades in the industry, are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join their technical team as a Technical Design Engineer on a permanent basis.
As a Technical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of their innovative products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet the highest standards of functionality, performance, and reliability. Your expertise will be essential in driving projects from concept to completion.
Duties:
- Design and develop new products.
- Assist with improving existing products and managing drawing changes.
- Code products and create bills of materials for custom orders.
- Liaise with customers and internal departments.
- Perform occasional assembly/production tasks and possible on-site visits.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Qualification in mechanical engineering, product design, or electrical engineering (ONC, HNC, or Degree).
- Creativity, logical thinking, and a practical approach with a keen interest in technology.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage costs while ensuring quality, longevity, and customer reliability.
- Collaborative team player.
- Interface with sales and marketing to deliver product information.
- Experience with 3D CAD design.
- Organised and tidy.
- Proactive, driven, and dynamic with a can-do attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, and team spirit.
