The Financial Controller has an opportunity to mentor and develop a first-class finance team, supported by an experienced Finance Director, while impacting performance in a business where finance is regarded as a key driver in delivering company strategy.

The Opportunity:
As our Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in the financial stewardship of Fortress Safety. Under the guidance of the Finance Director, you'll have the chance to significantly influence our business during this pivotal growth period.. You will not only ensure the robustness of financial processes but also contribute to strategic decision-making that drives the company's continued success.

This role is designed for an ambitious, future-focused professional with leadership experience, offering a clear path for progression to Finance Director. You will be mentored by the current Finance Director, gaining invaluable insights and experience, preparing you for the next stage in your career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
  • Drive improvements in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute the company's financial strategy.
  • Mentor and develop the finance team, supporting their growth and professional development.

What We're Looking For:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Proven post-qualified experience, ideally within a fast-growing, SME manufacturing company.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with a drive to continuously improve processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence at all levels of the business.
  • Ambition and a clear desire to progress to a Finance Director role in the future.
