Berneslai Homes has an exciting opportunity for a Damp, Mould & Disrepair Manager to join their team based in Barnsley, with the ability to work agilely. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £48,474 to £51,515 + generous benefits.

The Damp, Mould & Disrepair Manager role:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Repairs, Maintenance and Building safety department as our Damp, Mould & Disrepair Manager, where you'lllead on delivering a targeted right first time approach to damp and mould!

You'll lead a team dedicated to ensuring we meet our obligations and that properties we manage are safe and decent as a result. This will include managing disrepair cases from initial letter of claim to financial settlement and see agreed works through to completion taking initiative on all investigations to determine potential risk and financial loss.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Damp, Mould & Disrepair Manager:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Damp, Mould & Disrepair team ensuring performance targets are met in line with business objectives i.e., ensuring inspections are completed in timeframes in line with HHSRS assessments of Hazards
  • Manage the development, procurement, delivery, monitoring and review of all Damp, Mould & Disrepair works and projects including monitoring performance by measuring against KPI's. This may involve making both operational and financial decisions, providing data and reports including report status, progress, ad-hoc status updates as well as key issues, trend, and mitigation
  • Maintain digital records of the Housing Stock and other premises managed by Berneslai Homes, to ensure that the data we hold is kept fully up to date, reviewed, and utilised in decision making process
  • Representing Berneslai Homes, utilise your external networks to Identify and implement innovative ways of working, actively seeking and rolling our best practice within the sector
  • Working in collaboration with other service areas, lead on the ongoing development and review of Strategy, Policy, Specification and Action Plans in relation to Damp, Mould & Disrepair

What we're looking for in our Damp, Mould & Disrepair Manager:

  • Relevant Level 6 qualification or proven extensive experience
  • Management qualification or proven experience of management and leading a team
  • Membership of a Construction Industry related Professional Body i.e., CIOB, RICS or willingness to achieve this in an agreed upon timescale
  • Excellent understanding of the RSH Homes Standard, Legislation in respect of Damp, Mould & Disrepair and Landlords Statutory Duties
  • Experience of working in a similar role of contract managing Damp, Mould & Disrepair activities within domestic and non-domestic stocks
  • The ability to diagnose building defects and make technical recommendations and initiate appropriate actions for resolution
