ER Specialist - Media

Are you a specialist in Employee Relations looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced media environment?

This is a newly created role joining at a time of transformation for the business and the people team. As part of a new people team structure, they are looking to bring someone to act as ER specialist. This role will work alongside the people team offering expertise, driving forward a strategic, inclusive approach to ER, as well as being the go-to expert managing very complex and sensitive cases.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing ER strategies, policies, and procedures which support the business values and goals. As subject matter expert you coach and guide senior management on complex issues, tribunal claims and settlement agreements. You will own all things ER and have a broad overview of all ER issues and trends, using data analysis to inform decision-making, and coaching and developing people leaders and managers

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Proven experience of working in a similar role within ER, you'll be CIPD qualified or an equivalent level of subject matter expertise
  • Extensive experience in employee relations and UK employment law advisory, including the development and implementation of employee relations strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Can produce written material to a high standard such as reports, contracts of employment, policies and procedures
  • Skilled in engaging a diverse range of stakeholders, to build relationships that are based on trust, to work collaboratively and to resolve issues, both internally and externally
  • Proactive approach and a self-starter who has experience working in a fast passed media environment
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build positive and collaborative relationships.
  • Strong commercial awareness driving process and operational improvements.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with developments in UK employment law and ethical standards.

Hybrid role with c. 3 days office based - open to part-time applications.
