Key Responsibilities:
- Management Accounting & Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and financial performance reports. Ensure the integrity of financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with department heads and operational teams to provide financial support and guidance. Act as a trusted advisor, offering insights and analysis to drive business performance and achieve strategic goals.
- Financial Analysis & M&A Support: Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions. Evaluate potential acquisition targets, perform due diligence, and contribute to the integration of new acquisitions.
- Systems Integration & Process Improvement: Lead and participate in the integration of financial systems following acquisitions. Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes, ensuring the business remains agile and efficient.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working closely with the CFO to align financial planning with the company's growth objectives.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls, maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
Key Requirements:
- Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with a strong technical foundation and the ability to apply accounting principles effectively in a commercial setting.
- Experience: Proven experience in management accounting within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Experience in private equity-backed or acquisitive companies is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong financial analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Experience in business partnering and supporting M&A activities is a distinct advantage.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in financial systems and software, with experience in systems integration being a plus. Advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. A proactive, adaptable, and resilient individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
