Annual Salary: Scale 7, Point 30 to Scale 8, Point 41 (£39,262 - £50,537) Depending on Experience

Contract: Permanent, 37 hours a week, full year (52 weeks) – part-time option maybe considered for the right candidate

Reporting to: Finance Director (FD)

Aston Education is looking for a permanent full-time Financial Systems and Reporting Officer for a Multi-Academy Trust with primary and secondary schools in Slough in Berkshire**,** to start as soon as possible. This role is based on-site.

As a Financial Systems and Reporting Officer, your main responsibilities are:

  • In conjunction with FD advise on current and future financial issues and projects including feasibility studies, appraisals, preparation of business cases and funding options
  • Ensure that financial policies adopted are in adherence with the requirements of the ESFA, Charities Commission and Companies Law
  • Ensure that the ESFA chart of accounts are being implemented in all schools
  • Keep budget planning systems updated and reflecting current scenarios in schools
  • Laise with schools on overspends/underspends/latest estimates of spending to update forecast
  • Prepare monthly management account reports with accuracy using IMP budget planning tool
  • Attend meetings where information gathered on systems and processes may have to be presented
  • Lead on compilation of Trustees' report for yearend audit and to ensure that the interim and year end audit process is conducted effectively and efficiently
  • Responsible for delivery of training to core and school staff when implementing new systems or introducing new policies

You have strong schools finance experience and a degree level/NVQ4 financial or management qualification e.g. HND in Business Administration or Accountancy Qualification. AAT and systems knowledge of FMS and IMP Budget Planning would be an advantage.

This is a growing multi-academy trust with all schools Ofsted Good or Outstanding. They provide excellent CPD for all staff.

This role is based on site, no hybrid working available.
