Senior CAD Designer

We are seeking a Senior CAD Designer to join our team, contributing to the delivery of Architectural Glazing Solutions to the Construction Industry. This role is integral to our mission of building a sustainable business known for technical and service excellence. You will be preparing detailed design drawings and specifications for large glazing packages, working closely with main contractors, architects, and fitters.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Produce 2D CAD drawings for bespoke window and curtain wall solutions.
- Generate documentation for client review/approval of designs.
- Create general arrangement/setting out drawings for on-site use.
- Establish dimensions/quantities from existing client drawings.
- Develop drawings for the fabrication of components.
- Revise drawings following client reviews or engineering recommendations.
- Liaise with internal and external project contacts to capture all elements of the work to be drafted.
- Coordinate with Structural Engineers for necessary calculations on designs.
- Adhere to an agreed schedule, meeting both project and individual deadlines.
- Maintain a consistent approach for design and customer-facing documentation.
- Prepare pressing and glass schedules.
- Contribute to our Design Standardisation programme.
- Liaise with the factory, producing cutting sheets, material loading, and dispatch sheets.
- Work in accordance with current British standards and legislation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong technical design and AutoCAD skills.
- Ability to interrogate and manipulate existing CAD drawings.
- Keen eye for detail and practical design solutions.
- Problem-solving skills and a flexible, can-do attitude.
- Commercial awareness with a focus on cost-saving without compromising quality.
- Good working knowledge of IT and CAD software/technical drawings.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- Relevant qualification in CAD software, preferably AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of window systems companies (beneficial but not essential).
- CWCT accreditation (preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office.
