Project Assistant

Easement Solutions are the longest established land rights service specialising in supporting utility companies with land rights acquisitions for gas, electricity, water and fibre connections. As we continue to grow we are recruiting for a Projects Assistance to support the Project Managers, Client Account Managers and Directors to deliver excellent service to utility companies, developers and other businesses that use our service. This role is intended to provide the base training for a Project Officer/Manager role, and the successful candidate will have their own caseload under supervision from a Client Account Manager.

Responsibilities

  • To provide assistance to the fee-earning team across all aspects of the project work.
  • Be an ambassador of company values and a role model for company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate locally/internally/externally as needed to meet the objectives of this role.

Requirements and Skills

  • Good communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of the legal process required to obtain land rights. Ability to promote a positive image of the organization to employees, clients, partners and the community.

Key tasks

Training to be provided to ensure development to Project Manager role and to cover the following:

  • Identifying landowners through Land Registry database and desk-bound research.
  • Completing Highway Searches and analyse results.
  • Having a good understanding of the legal principles applicable to easements and land- particularly the Gas and Electricity Acts.
  • Assessing Land Rights requirements, having regard to the Gas Act and Electricity Act and advising clients accordingly.
  • Having a firm understanding of the IGTs, IDNOs and DNOs processes and Land Rights requirements.
  • Identifying the location of the legal requirements and ensure that the legal plans subsequently prepared are correct and meet with Land Registry requirements.
  • Preparing and issuing the correct legal documentation based on instructions and design plans received.
  • Instructing a Panel solicitor on IDNO/DNO projects and monitor their progress.
  • Ensuring clients are updated on a regular basis by phone/email and regularreports.
  • Updating and maintain the file records database.
  • Maintaining contact as required with all involved parties to include the client/landowner/client and landowner solicitor.
  • Ensuring admin matters(i.e.phone/post/other duties)are dealt withpromptly.
  • Provide assistance and support to Account Managers, Directors and the CEO.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post.

Role

Full-time - 35 hours per week, with an hour for lunch (unpaid).

Office based.

Minimum four days a week in the office (following an initial training period which will require full time in the Office).

Salary banding: £22,000-£25,000pa.

Annual leave entitlement is 26 days per year plus Bank Holidays.
