Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Head of Fire Safety to work with one of our Housing Association clients in the West Midlands.
What the job will be doing
- Keeping customers, colleagues, contractors, and visitors safe.
- Responsible for safeguarding people's lives and protecting property by advising, promoting, planning, formulating, implementing, and assisting activities and arrangements that take care of specific fire and life safety systems.
- Working closely and reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, this role plays a crucial part in the delivery of our fire safety arrangements.
- You will provide support to teams across the business to ensure that all requirements relating to fire safety are effectively managed, communicated and delivered.
What you will need
- Experience of fire safety enforcement procedures and audits.
- At least 3 years' experience of managing fire related projects and management of teams.
- Demonstrable budget planning, reporting and management skills.
- Effective judgement and decision-making skills - understanding strategic impact, gathering, and analysing relevant information, evaluating options, applying logical reasoning, and making effective and proportionate risk-based recommendations.
- Proven experience of supporting the continuous improvement of fire safety throughout the business through the creation of initiatives, education, and completion of identified improvements.
- Ability to communicate and work with internal and external customers, stakeholders and colleagues at all levels, with varying needs and involve them in the development of services
- Experience of property/asset databases.
- HNC/D in a Building related subject or qualified by experience.
- Level 5 Diploma in fire safety or fire engineering.
