My client an independent private property company specialising in residential management, lettings, and development across London is looking for a Head of People, Culture & Operations. An all-rounder with a background either in a start up environment or growing SME.
As they expand their portfolio, they need a strategic operator to take charge of systems, processes, and day-to-day business operations working closely with the Senior Leadership team.
This is a pivotal role for someone who wants to make an impact, bring structure to a scaling business, and work closely with founders to drive efficiency, performance, and growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for making the business run like clockwork. From systems and workflows to compliance, reporting, and internal coordination, you will take ownership of the operational backbone of the company and ensure best practice is followed at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and optimise day-to-day business operations across departments (lettings, property management, development, finance, and admin)
- Build and improve systems, processes, and workflows to ensure consistency, speed, and scalability
- Be a super user for tech and new software being rolled out across the business
- Work directly with senior leadership to support strategic planning, internal reporting, and goal tracking assessing performance metrics.
- Oversee business compliance, contracts, and operational risk management and health and safety policies.
- Ensure tech tools, internal systems, and suppliers are fit-for-purpose and cost-effective
- Coordinate cross-functional projects and ensure timely delivery of key initiatives
- Act as a central point of contact for internal operations and problem-solving
- You will help keep HR handbooks and contracts up to date, onboarding new starters and working with the People Partner to deal with employee relation cases,
- Streamline recruitment processes and recruitment strategy
- Monitor team wellbeing and lead initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive working environment
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
About You
- 5+ years' experience in a similar People and/or operational role, ideally within property, real estate, or a fast-scaling SME
- Level 5 minimum CIPD qualified
- Proven track record of improving systems, increasing efficiency, and solving business problems
- Highly organised, analytical, and commercially aware
- Strong communication skills and able to work closely with both leadership and front-line teams
- Strong Excel skills
- IT Savvy
- Comfortable taking ownership, making decisions, and leading cross-functional initiatives.
