Senior Social Worker

Tower Hamlets is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Practitioner Social Worker to join our Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). In this pivotal role, you will support the Team Manager in delivering the key strategic aims of our organisation, ensuring that the citizens of Tower Hamlets have access to a high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and Leadership: Assist the Team Manager in driving the strategic aims of the organisation, ensuring high standards of professional practice and performance within the team.
  • Quality Standards: Develop a culture of continuous improvement, setting high standards of practice and service delivery. Act as a role model, demonstrating the TOWER behaviours and leading by example.
  • Strength-Based Practice: Promote and implement strength-based models of practice, leveraging service users' individual strengths, support networks, community resources, and universal services before utilising council resources.
  • Expert Guidance: Provide expert guidance in complex situations, managing conflict or resistance. Support team members in handling complex and challenging cases effectively.
  • Professional Development: Foster a learning environment, encouraging professional growth and development within the team.

About You:

We are looking for a Senior Practitioner Social Worker who is:

  • Qualified: You must hold a Social Work degree or equivalent, and have a valid SWE registration.
  • Experienced: Extensive experience in social work, particularly in managing complex and challenging cases within a mental health setting.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities, capable of supporting and motivating a team to achieve high standards of practice.
  • Strength-Based Focus: Committed to strength-based practice, maximising the use of service users' strengths and community resources.
  • Problem-Solver: Skilled in providing expert guidance and resolving conflicts in complex situations.
  • Role Model: Exemplifies the TOWER behaviours, leading by example and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
