Academics LTD is collaborating with a reputable SEN school in Maidenhead that offers exceptional support for children aged 5 to 18 with mental, emotional, and social needs. The school is seeking an enthusiastic and supportive Mental Health Specialist to join their dedicated team. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to gain experience while working alongside qualified SEN practitioners and psychologists.

If you are a recent graduate in Psychology or Criminology, this position is an excellent way to acquire valuable experience in an educational environment. It's also a great fit for anyone aspiring to work in psychology or mental health. While recognized qualifications such as a degree or Level 3 qualifications are beneficial, previous experience with SEN children is not required.

This role is ideal for individuals looking to build their experience in education, teaching, or mental health. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will develop essential skills while working one-on-one and in groups with children facing behavioral challenges, including Autism and Complex Needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Supporting children with a variety of needs, including Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, behavioral challenges, sensory issues, physical disabilities, and communication difficulties
  • Assisting students in developing emotional regulation and social skills
  • Demonstrating a genuine interest in working with children or in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Maintaining a resilient, positive, and caring attitude

  • Salary: £83 - £95 per day (based on experience, training, qualifications, and client rate)
  • Contract: Long-term temporary position with potential for permanent placement
  • Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
